For many years I have been warning friends and colleagues about the marriage of Unbridled Greed and white supremacy. I first noticed both working in coordinated tandem during the GWB presidency at the very beginning of this century.
Invited to look deeper into American history, I soon realized that the reason a white supremacy mindset remained is that those benefiting from unbridled greed found white supremacy to be a tremendous weapon to maintain their hegemony over the life of the nation.
The power of white supremacy to be a disruptive force is a powerful weapon utilized to confuse and divide people. White Supremacy has a history of being an effective tool to assure corporate control of society as we saw in Nazi Germany. It is interesting to point out that the Nazis recognize they learned quite a lot from American white supremacy ideologues.
Alex Ross‘ masterpiece article in The New Yorker 4/23/18, “How American Racism Influenced Hitler” states “America’s knack for maintaining an air of robust innocence in the wake of mass death struck Hitler as an example to be emulated.” This perception has allowed Corporate perfumed masterminds to maneuver as innocent bystanders while people are being killed here and abroad by rogue “individuals” that don’t have control of themselves. Nothing to do with corporate interests.
Realizing that the goal is to keep this modus operandi, the survival of white supremacy “specialists» is unquestionable. They are always needed. Class struggle has a knack to develop a consciousness that leaders from mass struggles can utilize to educate others and organize people around it.
Class struggle within capitalism inevitably leads to conflict especially in a situation when the social contract is not respected, and this is usually the case because there is no inclination by the representatives to fight for the rights of the working and middle classes.
In Europe, many countries have achieved a high degree of working- and middle-class satisfaction because members of those classes are highly organized, and their representatives have no qualms about striking or taking whatever actions are necessary to gain a victory in a just fight.
What’s happening to our railroad workers who have no sick days wouldn’t be happening if railroad magnates didn’t think they could get away with it, counting on weak union leadership and a government that when the chips are down, they are sure will side with corporate interests.
The nation is at a crossroads. We have an opportunity to strike a mortal blow to white supremacy, but if we allow again for white supremacy to survive in order to fulfill corporate economic interests then we can safely start saying SOS USA.
